Albert Lee Reveals Plans For 70th Birthday Gigs
The guitarist will play two shows this March.
Previously hailed by Eric Clapton as "the greatest guitarist in the world", Albert Lee turns 70 this year and will celebrate with two gigs at London’s Cadogan Hall on March 1st and 2nd.
The virtuoso will be joined on stage by a host of different musicians across the two nights, including Joe Brown, Chas and Dave, Gary US Bonds, Gary Brooker, Marty Wilde, Bruce Welch, Chris Farlowe, Brian Bennett, Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders, Shakin’ Stevens, Ralph McTell, Dave Edmunds and The Robert Wells Trio.
Tickets sold out immediately after the announcement, however a small allocation is expected to be released closer to the dates.
The celebrations will be followed by the release of a new single “Spellbound” and an album, “Frettening Behaviour”, both out on March 3rd. Lee will then begin a UK tour with his band Hogan’s Heroes on March 7th.
