Aerosmith To Record "Old School" Album
Joey Kramer says that the band will release new album next year
Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer says that the band will record an "old school” album next year.
In a new interview with SpinnerMusic.co.uk Kramer says that the band are "going to do it the old way” when they reconvene in 2011.
"We're going to make an album," he said. "That would be very special. I would like to see a record within a year from the Aerosmith boys. My brothers and I are destined to make another record in the next year or so.”
"I'm anxious to get back in the studio and do a record," Kramer says. "We haven't done a record in so long. I'm really looking forward to it. It's a nice project over the winter."
The band’s future has been the cause of much debate over the past 12 months after a series of serious bust ups conducted in public between the band and their frontman Stephen Tyler.
Tyler is currently a judge on US TV pop talent chow, American Idol. That gig starts in January and should finish in May. Until then, it seems that the band will be working hard on Aerosmith projects.
"It's good for everybody to be back in the thick of things again," Kramer says. "The band is playing great now, so it's a good time and everything is good." Following the final date in September, the plan was to first take a rest and "do whatever we've got to do individually, whatever that might be. Then we'll all convene to do a record."
"One of the things that's great about being in this band is that I never know what's going to happen next," he says. "What you see in the mirror, is that really what you're going to get or not? Really, at this point in time, the only thing that's going to stop us is if someone out-and-out dies. Other than that, we've already been through what we've been through and stood the test of time. What else is there?"
