Aerosmith to be honoured with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Aerosmith will be honoured with the 2,657th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week.
The band will be immortalised at a ceremony on Valentine’s Day (Thursday 14th February) at 11am local time, and members of Aerosmith will be in attendance.
Fans are invited to the public unveiling of the star, which will be located appropriately in front of the Musicians Institute at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard. The event will also be live-streamed on the official Walk of Fame website.
"Finally!" said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. "We have been waiting a long time to honour Aerosmith with their star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
“Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands in the world and we expect many fans will be 'Crazy' excited to see them honoured!"
Bassist Tom Hamilton told Variety getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame wasn’t on Aerosmith’s radar in their early days.
“The only things I knew to expect from being in a band and making it were girls, money and fame,” he said.
“Oh, and being on ‘American Bandstand.’ I never expected videos, digital recordings, playing in Russia or having a roller coaster at Disney World - never mind a star on Hollywood Blvd.”
The rock icons kick off their lengthy Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild residency at the Park Theater in Las Vegas on Saturday 6th April.
