Aerosmith reveal Steven Tyler's vocal injury is more serious than first thought
The remaining 37 dates of their farewell tour are postponed

Aerosmith have issued a statement to their fans revealing that Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injury is worse than they initially thought.
Earlier this month, the Boston band said they were postponing the next six dates of their North American Peace Out farewell tour in September due to 75-year-old Steven Tyler’s vocal cord damage.
The 40-date Peace Out tour opened at Philadelphia Wells Fargo Center on Saturday 2nd September, and Aerosmith successfully played shows at Pittsburgh PPG Paints Arena and Belmont Park UBS Arena before Tyler’s injury forced them to hit the brakes.
The six September concerts were pushed back to January and February 2024, with the swansong tour originally set to reconvene in October.
In an update to fans today (29th September), Aerosmith announced that Tyler has suffered a fractured larynx and it’s unclear when the Peace Out farewell tour will resume.
‘To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care,’ the band wrote.
‘He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.
‘As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.
‘All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend once those dates are announced. Fans with questions regarding refunds should reach out to their point of purchase.’
Steven Tyler said: “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”
It’s currently unclear whether there will be any UK and international dates on Aerosmith’s farewell tour. The band were due to play the UK last summer, however they cancelled their entire European trek.
