Aerosmith Bassist Undergoes Cancer Treatment

Tom Hamilton has reportedly undergone treatment for cancer of the throat and tongue

Published 9th Aug 2011

The bassist was first diagnosed with cancer of the tongue in 2006 when he underwent radiotherapy and was forced to miss a big chunk of his band's tour. However, he revealed at the time that he had been given the all clear.

Unfortunately it seems that the cancer has returned and Ksat.com reports that he underwent laser surgery last week to remove the cancer, with no reported damage to his voice or breathing passage. Despite the operation being described as "radical", it appears to have been a success for the bassist.

Hamilton is currently in the studio with his bandmates working on their brand new album.

There's been no official comment from the band on their bandmate's latest bout of illness.
