Aerosmith & Rage For Download

Final headliners lined up for Donington

Aerosmith will put their recent troubles behind them to headline this year's Download Festival it has been announced.

The band will return to Donington Park for the first time since 1994, while they also played Monsters Of Rock in 1990.

They will be joined as headliners by Rage Against The Machine, who also play a free show in Finsbury Park, London in June.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler hopes that the show will put paid to the rumours that his band are in trouble and says that he's looking forward to returning to Donington for the first time in more than 15 years.

"In the early days of Aerosmith we were infected with the vibe coming out of the UK with The Yardbirds, Blues Breakers, Pretty Things and the Stones and we wanted what they had bad,” says Tyler. "So baby, we’re coming home! Rock ‘n’ Roll can be pure sex and we can’t wait ‘til Download!”

More acts are due to be confirmed for the 11-13 June festival over the next few days.
