STV reports that fans will be able to view around 450 items linked to the Australian band that boasts a huge following in Scotland due to the members' tartan roots.

The exhibition, which has toured Australia, will open in September and will run until the end of January 2012. It is the first time it has left Australia and Kelvingrove is its only European date.

Items on show will include a leather jacket once owned by late singer Bon Scott and handwritten lyrics to classic song Highway to Hell.

It will also feature an early version of axe hero Angus Young's signature schoolboy outfit, one of his guitars and the AC/DC stage-show cannon.
