AC/DC Enters Grammy Hall Of Fame
"Back In Black" joins 933 other titles at Grammy Museum.
AC/DC’s seminal 1980 album, "Back In Black,” is among the recordings entering the 2013 Grammy Hall Of Fame.
With 27 new additions on Wednesday, the list currently totals 933 titles and is on display at the Grammy Museum at L.A. Live.
This latest round of inducted recordings helps celebrate 40 years of highlighting diversity and recording excellence, acknowledging recordings of all genres which represent historical musical significance.
Released in 1980 following the death of Bon Scott, AC/DC’s "Back in Black” was dedicated to the band’s late singer. It has gone on to sell 50 million copies worldwide, making it tied for second highest-selling album of all time, behind only Michael Jackson’s "Thriller".
This week AC/DC made their entire back catalogue available for digital download for the first time, exclusively on iTunes.
