Abbey Road Is US Top Selling Vinyl
The Beatles\' 1969 classic tops the vinyl charts for the third year running
According to the latest Nielsen Soundscan sales figures Abbey Road sold an impressive 41,000 copies on vinyl in 2011 in the US - up from 35,000 in 2010 and  34,800 in 2009. In fact if it weren't for Radiohead's In Rainbows this would have been four years running that the Beatles album had been the biggest selling of the year as it finished runner up in 2008.
Rolling Stone reports that the gradual increase in vinyl sales for Abbey Road over the past few years mirrors an overall upward trend in vinyl sales, though the format only accounts for 3.9 percent of total music sales for the year.
