Download's Main Stage this year will be called the Jim Marshall Stage as a tribute to the late guitar amplification pioneer.

"The music industry lost an innovator & a legend with the sad passing of Jim Marshall,” said Download promoter Andy Copping. "We had to remember him in some way and having the Main Stage dedicated to his name seemed the perfect tribute.”

So this year the Jim Marshall Stage will be headlined by Metallica, Black Sabbath and Prodigy, while there will be performances from Soundgarden, Megadeth, Machine Head and Black Label Society amongst others.

In other Download news, a new batch of bands have been added to the bill, including THE UNION and SAINT JUDE.

Swedish metallers GHOST will also play along with Shadows Fall, My Passion, Feed The Rhino, La Dispute, Lawnmother Deth, Six Hour Sundown, Silent Descent, With One Last Breath, No Americana, Royal Cartel, Tyla, The Dirty Youth, Yashin, Voodoo Johnson and Sanguine.

And there will be another couple of stage this year with the return of the JägerRock Truck as The Jägermeister Acoustic Stage.
