A whole year group at a Cornish primary school is having to self-isolate after a confirmed case of coronavirus.

It affects those in the reception classes at Trevithick Learning Academy in Camborne.

A letter has been sent out to parents and bosses at the school say they are following the advice from Public Health England.

The letter reads: "The school has been informed that a child in a Reception class here at Trevithick has tested positive for COVID19.

"Following the advice from Public Health England and the DFE, we have been asked to ensure that children in just the Reception classes begin a period of 14 days of isolation which has begun today.

"We understand that receiving this news will be worrying to you, however it is very important that we follow closely the advice from Public Health. In this case, school will continue as normal for all children apart from those staff and children in Reception. They have received a different letter explaining what to do!"
