Young leaders from around the world have started preparing for this years Y7 summit.

A virtual launch event of Youth 7 delegates is taking place today (Saturday 6th February) via zoom.

Their purpose is to make sure all agreements reached by international govenments at Carbis Bay in June, work for young people now and in the future.

The Y7 conference takes place in May, a month ahead of when world leaders come to Cornwall for the G7.

"Young people now, and in the years to come, will bear the social, economic, political and environmental consequences of the pandemic. G7 Governments must involve them in the difficult decisions that lie ahead, for it is their - our - future that is affected.

"The Y7 2021 is a unique opportunity to champion the voice of young people at the highest level of decision making. We are delighted to begin the process today, and look forward to working closely with the U.K. government throughout the Presidency."
