Woman sexually assaulted by stranger near park in Plymouth

Police have issued an appeal for information

An appeal has gone out after a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger near a park in Plymouth.

It allegedly happened in the Devonport Park area at around 6pm on Thursday 6th August.

Police say a woman was walking nearby when she was followed by an unknown man who then sexually assaulted her.

Officers are searching for a suspect who is around 18 years old, was carrying a distinctive 'man bag' and had a missing front tooth.

"The male is described as white, approximately 18 years of age. He was around 5ft 6ins tall, of a slim build and spoke with a local accent.

"He had short dark hair and is missing a front tooth. He was carrying a distinctive ‘man bag’ across his body with a criss-cross pattern embedded on it."
