Woman dies in hospital 10 days after serious crash on Cornwall's A30

A woman has died in hospital 10 days after a serious crash on the A30 in Cornwall.

Two vehicles collided between Victoria and Innis Downs on the 2nd September.

A 79-year-old local Iris Udy was rushed to Derriford but sadly passed away last Saturday.

Police are still investigating the collision and anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage, is asked to contact officers.

"Police have today named a 79-year-old woman who has died following a two vehicle collision.

"Police were notified at around 1.13pm on Wednesday 2 September of a road traffic collision on the Eastbound carriageway of the A30 between Victoria and Innis Downs, Cornwall.

"The driver of the Ford Transit, a 64-year-old man from Wales, was uninjured.

"79-year-old local woman, Iris Udy, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital. Police has since been informed that she sadly passed away in hospital in the early hours of the 12th September.

"Officers from the Alliance’s Roads Policing Team attended the scene and commenced an investigation of the scene with officers working to establish the cause of the collision."

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and may also have dashcam.
