Woman dies following single-vehicle crash in St Austell
Police were called to the A390 on Saturday afternoon
A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in St Austell.
Emergency services were called to the A390 Southbourne Road at 3.55pm on Saturday afternoon (21 October).
Police say the crash involved a white Kia Venga. A spokesperson for the force said:
"A man and a woman sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.
"Sadly, the woman, in her 80s and from the St Austell area, died of her injuries at Derriford Hospital yesterday, 22 October.
"The man, in his 70s and from the Newquay area, remains in hospital.
"The road was closed for thee-and-a-half hours while an investigation was carried out at the scene and officers would like to thank the public for their patience during the closure."
Officers are conducting enquiries into the collision and asking anyone with information or with relevant dashcam footage to contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 511 of 21 October.
