Beach in Newquay named as one of the most 'instagrammable' wedding destinations

It was the only place in the UK to make the top 20 world list!

A beach in Cornwall has been named as one of the most 'instagrammable' wedding destinations in the world.

Lusty Glaze in Newquay was the only UK location to make the top 20 list, with over 30,000 hashtags.

Showers Toy You says that with wedding season now in full swing and searches for “beach wedding ideas” have risen by 50% in the last week alone.

The company wanted to see which destinations are likely to be on the top of people's lists based on how popular they are on Instagram and has been analysing hashtag numbers.

The results:

Taking the lead in first place is Cannon Beach located in Oregon, with a total of 479,252 hashtags on Instagram. Burrowed between the Coast Range and the Pacific Ocean, a couple-to-be and their guests will have the pleasure of breath-taking views and crashing waves whilst the union takes place.

Following in second place is another USA favourite, Rosemary Beach in Florida. Boasting an impressive 260,078 hashtags, this destination has been favoured by celebrities too including Deana Carter and Jim McPhail.

Bavaro Beach comes in third place with a total of 195,830 hashtags. This adult only, 24-hour inclusive spot can be found in the Dominican Republic and is ideal for big parties with more than 580 rooms available.

Completing the top 10 is Villa Del Balbianello, nestled in Lenno (Italy) totalling 33,674 hashtags. This destination has been used in several movies including Casino Royale and Star Wars and has also been the chosen location for celebrities, including Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, to tie the knot.

Which countries are home to the most popular beach wedding destinations?

Of the destinations analysed by Showerstoyou.co.uk, Ireland is the country home to the most Instagrammable beach wedding destinations with 12 spots making the list out of 97, including Arcadia in Antrim (3,297 hashtags), Rathmullan House in Ulster (1,924 hashtags) and Hotel Doolin (1,375 hashtags).

In second place is the UK with 11 insta-worthy destinations making the list. Lusty Glaze (30,311 hashtags), Watergate Bay Hotel both of which are in Newquay (8,393 hashtags) and Tunnels Beaches in Devon (6,453 hashtags) are amongst the favourites.

The USA takes third place with a total of 10 places being analysed, with four ranking in the top 10.
