Wally the walrus is being 'disturbed' by boats and people off Isles of Scilly
Marine experts are urging people to keep their distance
Marine experts have issued a warning as they say Wally the walrus is being disturbed by boats and people off the Isles of Scilly.
The much-loved walrus was spotted off the coast of Cornish back in May, by Padstow Sealife Safaris.
Photographer and Padstow Sealife Safaris safari guide, Nathaniel Barry, initially thought the creature was a seal, before spotting the tusks!
A few weeks later Wally was seen off the Isles of Scilly has he came up to boats to hello.
But now the Marine Management Organisation is reminding people that walruses are protected and that they should not approach him.
"We have received messages that the walrus currently on the Isles of Scilly is regularly being disturbed by vessels and the public.
"Walruses are protected from disturbance under section 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. So please keep your distance and do not approach."

Wally had made himself comfortable on a rib moored at St Mary's Harbour, so the team towed him out so he could get some peace and quiet.
"Wally has made himself comfy on a rib that was moored at St Mary's Harbour.
"We have towed him out to the Newman buoy so he can rest quietly and get some piece and quiet. Please do not approach the vessel - let him sleep!"
They added: "Wally is still snoring away on the rib at the entrance to the hbr this morning. We’ll let him rest here & move the vessel later today. Please give this vessel a wide berth when departing/arriving."
"Quick Wally update - as we towed the rib back to the hbr Wally decided he wanted to get back into the sea so he is now cooling off somewhere and no doubt will reappear soon!"
