A van overturned and closed a busy road to Truro in both directions.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene on the A39 at Arch Hill at 9.20am this morning (27th September).

It is believed that there were minor injuries and the road was completely closed for a period of time.

It has now been confirmed that the stretch has reopened and traffic is returning to normal.

At the time, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We received reports of a collision in which a van had ended up on its side on Arch Hill, Truro, at around 9.20am.

"Ambulance and fire services have also attended.

"Currently believed to be minor injuries but the incident is ongoing.

"One carriageway has reopened."

There was queuing traffic in the area and it was affecting those travelling between Truro and Playing Place.

Inrix Traffic and Travel said: "A39 Arch Hill in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to overturned van and recovery work between A390 (Truro) and B3289 (the Petrol Station, Playing Place).

"The road was fully closed but has now partly reopened."
