Devon and Cornwall Police have issued an update following an incident in Pool over the bank holiday weekend.

Officers were called to the Higher Pumpfield Road amid reports of a man lying injured in the street.

A man, in his 30s, was discovered with serious head injuries in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police inquiries continue as officers close part of a road in Pool

A man and two women were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on bail.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing into what happened and a cordon remains in place at the scene.

"Police and paramedics were called to Higher Pumpfield Row, Pool, at around 12.05am on Monday 3rd May following reports of a man lying injured in the road.

"The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. There is currently no update on his condition.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and a police cordon remains in place at the scene.

"A 26-year-old man and two women, aged 25 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police bail until 31 May while enquiries continue."
