Two swimmers "shouting for help" rescued from sea near Padstow
Coastguard and RNLI teams were called to Round Hole Point in Trevone
Two swimmers have been rescued from the sea near Padstow.
The Coastguard and RNLI were called to Round Hole Point in Trevone shortly after 3.00pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 16 October).
The pair were said to be "shouting for help".
A statement on HM Coastguard Padstow's Facebook page said: "At 1501HRS HM Coastguard Padstow Search & Rescue Team were tasked to a report of two swimmers in difficulty and shouting for help in the vicinity of Round Hole Point, Trevone.
"RNLI Padstow Lifeboat were also tasked to the scene and RNLI Padstow Lifeguards (Porthcothan to Trebarwith) proceeded in their rescue boat from its base at Harlyn Bay.
"The casualties were recovered by the RNLI Lifeguard Rescue Boat and then transferred to Padstow ALB for casualty care assessments. Having been deemed fit and well by the RNLI crew and in no need of further medical attention, the casualties were transferred back to the Lifeguard Rescue Boat and brought ashore at Harlyn Bay.
"Excellent work by both RNLI teams.
"Padstow CRT stood down at Harlyn, the CRV returning to station at 1545HRS ready for the next tasking."
