Two people suffer smoke inhalation after a chalet fire in south-east Cornwall

Two crews from the area tackled the blaze overnight.

Two people have suffered the affects of smoke inhalation following a blaze at a chalet near Looe.

Firefighters from Liskeard and Looe attended the incident in the early hours of Saturday November 14.

On arrival they found it well alight, the cause is thought to be accidental.

"On receipt of this call, appliances from Looe and Liskeard were mobilised, on arrival crews found a wooden chalet measuring twenty five by ten metres well alight, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet and hosereel jet to extinguish the fire, water was supplied using a light portable pump from a nearby water source.

"Crews were delayed some time extinguishing hot spots. An ambulance was requested to deal with two persons suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. The cause was accidental.
