Truro Cathedral suffers £11k of damage after vandal smashes windows
Police say a man threw bottles at the building's stained glass windows

Around £11,000 pounds' worth of damage has been caused to Truro Cathedral after it was vandalised.
The incident took place just after 1.30am on Saturday 19th March, when a man threw bottles at the stained glass windows of the Cathedral breaking or damaging 19 windows in total.
Damage was sustained to windows between the crypt door and the Chapter House steps, there is also damage to the large window of the Old Cathedral School Building.
Sean O'Neill is the Chief Operating Officer at Truro Cathedral, he said: “It is always saddening when mindless and disrespectful acts of vandalism like this happen anywhere, I hope that the culprit captured on CCTV and having recorded himself on his own phone in the act, can be brought to justice”
Police are continuing to review CCTV and are urging the culprit to come forward.
Inspector Colin Wheeler, said: “I am appalled at this senseless case of criminal damage that has taken place at one of our city’s most important landmarks.
"Truro Cathedral is a beautiful building which is a central and important part of the city centre. It’s even more infuriating when you hear how much it will cost and it makes me wonder, why this building was targeted.
“Our investigation is ongoing but I would ask anyone with information to let us know as soon as possible. Now we have it, we will closely review the CCTV with the aim, of course, of identifying the culprit.
“I urge the individual responsible to come forward and make themselves known to the police.”
