Three men arrested following assault in St Ives

An 18-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old, all from Birmingham, remain in custody.

Three men have been arrested following an assault in St Ives earlier this month.

It was reported that an altercation had taken place on Treganna Road between 11.30pm and midnight on Wednesday 16th September, during which the victim sustained a stab wound to the arm. Emergency services located the victim on Chapel Street.

The victim, a 29-year-old man from Redruth, was taken to Treliske hospital with serious injuries, which are not being treated as life-threatening.

Three men, an 18-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, all from Birmingham, were arrested on Joannies Avenue late last night (Tuesday 29 September) and are currently in custody in relation to this matter.

Three other men, a 22-year-old man from St Ives, a 17-year-old boy from Birmingham, and a 19-year-old man from St Ives, were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

“We understand that recent events and the subsequent police activity will have caused some alarm to local residents. The neighbourhood policing team will be addressing these concerns with the local community as the investigation takes its course.

“We would like to thank the community for their patience and those who have come forward with information.”
