Thousands head to see tall ships in Falmouth
There have been long queues as people wait to see the vessels
There have been long queues in Falmouth as thousands of people have queued up to see the Tall Ships.
It's the first time in nine years the ships have been to Cornwall.
They're taking part in the prestigious Magellan Elcano race, named after the first people to circumnavigate the globe more than 500 years ago.
Organisers are now asking people to book tickets to see the ships in advance.
Richard Wilcox of the Falmouth Tall Ships organisers said, " Pre-ticket purchase for Wednesday and Thursday is a necessity and then people MUST please attend in their allocated and purchased time slots.
"We are recommending that visitors do NOT arrive early to the docks. It’s great that there’s so much interest but we’re asking that everyone please pre-purchases their tickets and only comes at the allocated times on those tickets.
"There are lots of free activities all around the town, so please come and enjoy the best of Falmouth and admire the ships from all points of the port. Thank you."
