The moment around 200 bottlenose dolphins surrounded a boat in Falmouth Bay has been caught on camera.

AK Wildlife Cruises says the playful creatures were feeding and travelling during one of their excursions on Wednesday.

On top of that, they experienced some "spectacular breaches" and bow-riding.

Posting on Facebook, the team said: "Today we were treated to an incredible experience with over 200 bottlenose dolphins surrounding us with feeding travelling and lots of playing as well!

"This involved some spectacular breaches and bow-riding - to just add to the mind-blowing and special experience! Some of which you can see from the videos with this post.

Sam Plowright was lucky enough to capture the above footage of the so-called 'superpod'.

CK Hawk from AK Wildlife Cruises commented: "Congratulations Sam on capturing this truly special and incredibly rare event of the much talked about but rarely seen "SUPERPOD" of offshore bottlenose dolphins. Covering well over a mile of sea as they travelled west .

"How privileged we all were to have this truly wonderful experience and interaction with so many big bold and beautiful bottlenose dolphins.

"Some of their joyful bow-riding antics and their truly spectacular breaching was a sight to behold.

"Delighted to see so many calves and juveniles in this huge superpod".

CK added: "What a phenomenal experience. Such magical shared memories to last forever".
