Storm Eunice: Gales cause major damage to buildings across Cornwall
The winds were so strong, part of the roof of Sennen Lifeboat Station was ripped off
Storm Eunice has hit Cornwall with winds so powerful, roofs have been ripped off buildings.
The gusts have caused severe damage from Bude to Sennen, as well as causing widespread travel disruption due to fallen trees and power cables.
This was the scene in Sennen on Friday morning, where part of the lifeboat station roof was blown into the road.
At one point, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was urging people to stay away because of live power cables close to metal railings.
However, Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed that Western Power has made the area safe.
Storm Eunice also tore off part of the roof of Bude Leisure Centre, with video footage showing panels being swept across the road and onto the petrol station forecourt across the road.
The north Cornwall town was also one of the multiple areas affected by fallen trees.
The moment one came crashing down in the town centre was also caught on camera...
In a statement, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "With the severe weather taking place today, Cornwall Fire and Rescue have attended numerous incidents, predominately on the North Coast, with significant incidents in the Bude area.
"Since 0700 hours this morning the Control Centre have dealt with just under 100 incidents".
Devon and Cornwall Police have also dealt with a high number of calls, predominantly about fallen trees and power cables and travel disruption.
The force tweeted: "We have already received over four times the amount of calls we would usually take.
"Most of the calls are regarding road disruption; fallen trees & power cables, flying debris & collapsed roofs. Keep safe and bear with us".
