Bodmin Police Station has had to temporarily close its public front desk after it suffered damage in the wake of the storms.

It is understood that some roofing became detached from the building in high winds.

Buildings across Cornwall have been damaged by the gales from Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin.

The winds on Friday were so strong, part of the roof of Sennen Lifeboat Station was ripped off along with part of the roof on the leisure centre in Bude.

Our police force says the damage at the Bodmin site is being assessed.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “The public enquiry office at Bodmin Police Station has been temporarily closed today, 21st February, following damage caused to the building during Storm Eunice.

“The damage will be assessed and any required works carried out, as soon as possible.

“The office is likely to remain closed for the remainder of Monday 21st, and Tuesday 22nd February. We will provide updates when we have further clarity.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.”
