An interactive Halloween light display has been set up near Tintagel.

The display at Trevethy, which is full of animatronics and decorations, has officially launched with just over a week to go until Halloween.

In a post, the organisers wrote: "Be there and be scared. Welcome to the most frightening Halloween display in Cornwall 2023.

"Expect ghouls and ghosts, clowns and phantoms."

Chris Davies, who set it up, said this year the display is 'bigger and better' than last year, with around 16 animatronics.

He told us: "We start planning in March every year. We have to plan very early on because a lot of the things we use we get all the way from America.

"We plan early and then when it comes to the build, it takes us five years to build the display."

"Last year it was great to hear so many people laughing, joking, then you'd hear the odd scream. Everybody would go silent in the display to try and find where the scream came from.

"Over the years Trick or Treating has dropped off. The whole idea of Halloween kinda became really low but last year we had people coming from Bristol, Manchester and Cardiff.

"The time of year is just fantastic"

The free-to-see display is held on private land at Trethevy, PL34 0BE, and any donations on the night go to MS Society.

Chris added: "In 2022, we ran our first big Halloween display in Cornwall to raise money for Dementia UK. We managed to raise an incredible £1,700 by doing the display. This year, we are growing the display and adding more animatronics and more props than last year to this time raise money for the MS Society, which is the UK’s largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis."
