Drivers urged to watch speed on diversion routes after Cornwall bridge strike
The B3314 near Wadebridge remains closed ahead of repairs to Trewornan Bridge
Drivers are being urged to watch their speed through diversion routes, after a bridge strike near Wadebridge.
Scaffolding has gone up ahead of repairs to Trewornan Bridge on the B3314, which look set to take "some weeks".
The road remains closed following an incident last weekend, which left the structure badly damaged.
The official diversion is along the B3314 towards Pendoggett and out through St Teath.
However in an update posted on social media earlier this week, Councillor Carol Mould urged people taking an alternative route through Chapel Amble to slow down.
On Thursday 19th May, Cllr Mould added: "Scaffolding gone up today on site. Historic England want as much stone as possible to be re used so a team on site all over the weekend cleaning and prepping the stone ready for rebuilding.
"I have had messages to say the diversion signs are not in place especially in Chapel Amble.
"I have a map of where they should be and a resident of Chapel Amble has kindly offered to check them.
"That said, the highways team, who check every day, have reported back that signs have been moved, turned around or laid flat, not helpful! .
"They have all been repositioned, so hopefully they will stay in place.
"As always, please take care and watch your speed".
