The owner of one of Cornwall's beloved breweries says he is "broken-hearted" they could not save it.

Truro-based Skinner's went into administration on Monday, following an announcement on social media on Friday.

Now Steve Skinner has shared an emotional message to thank all their loyal customers and staff.

He said that over the last three years since the pandemic, they have "battled tirelessly" - and endured "sleepless nights".

The post concludes by saying "love and great memories to you all".

The post reads: "On behalf of Lainey and myself I would like to thank everyone for the amazingly kind and sincere messages we have received from you all - we are both broken hearted that we couldn't save our beloved brewery after many sleepless nights and heartache.

"Skinner's and our incredibly loyal staff are so close to both our hearts, and we have battled tirelessly over the last three years, since the pandemic.

"Love to both of our amazing families: Emma, Louise, Ben, Sophie and Harvey and Monty, for their support and for continually over many years moving the bottles around on supermarket shelves to make us look like the best seller!

"Love and great memories to you all".

On Friday, Steve Skinner said he hopes a buyer can be found so the brewery can "continue to be a part of life in Cornwall".
