Sheep rescued from 20m deep flooded quarry near Penzance

A sheep has been found balanced on the edge of a bank in a 20m deep flooded quarry near Penzance.

Firefighters and the RSPCA go the shout to the hamlet of Sheffield on Wednesday afternoon.

A rescue operation was carried out and the animal was brought back to safety by water rescue experts.

"One appliance from Penzance and the water rescue vehicles attended this incident.

"A sheep had been balanced on the edge of bank in a 20m deep flooded quarry.

"The crew along with water rescue technicians and two officers co-ordinated the rescue and the sheep was brought to safety.

"The RSPCA were also informed."
