Police are investigating a serious sexual assault in Truro and have released CCTV images.

Detectives are appealing to identify a man who could help their investigation into a report of a burglary and subsequent serious sexual assault between midnight and 4.40am on Sunday 18th July.

Now they have released pictures of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers are also asking residents to remain vigilant and to ensure their properties are secure.

The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Police investigating the incident would like to identify the man pictured as they believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who sees the man pictured is urged to call 999 immediately.

“We are investigating a burglary at a domestic premises and a serious sexual assault in Truro.

“Police are asking the local community to remain vigilant around home security.

“Residents can expect to see additional police resources in the area now and over the coming days.

“We would like in particular to speak to the man pictured in relation to our enquiries. We ask that people come forward if they have information that may identify him.

"Please do not approach the male - if you see him, dial 999.”
