Search for missing man in St Agnes stood down

It's after three people were washed from the rocks at Tubby's Head on Thursday afternoon.

The search to find a man who was swept into the sea in St Agnes has been stood down.

Emergency services got the shout to Tubby's Head on Thursday afternoon, amid reports of three people in difficulty in the water.

HM Coastguard said it would like to thank all the rescue teams who took part in the search, which has been ongoing since Thursday afternoon.

In a statement it said the teams thoughts are with the family.

"After extensive searches today, overnight and yesterday, HM Coastguard has now stood down the search for a missing person Our thoughts are with the family.

"We would like to thank all of the rescue teams who took part in this multi-agency search and rescue effort."

Police were notified by Coastguard at around 1.30pm of a concern of welfare of a man in the sea at St Agnes Head yesterday, Thursday 12 November.

The RNLI and Coastguard attended the scene to conduct searches for the man.

Searches resumed this morning, Friday 13 November, however Coastguard have now called off their searches. The man's next of kin have been informed.
