UPDATE: A man's body has been discovered in a car found at the bottom of cliffs in west Cornwall and the family of missing Richard Mockford have been informed.

Police have expanded their search for a man, missing from the Penzance area since Friday.

Officers say they are growing increasingly concerns for Richard Mockford's wellbeing.

They are now scouring beaches, campsites and car parks across west Cornwall and asking the public and local businesses to check similar areas.

The force has also released new images of Richard, including one of the car he would have been driving.

They have made a direct appeal to Richard as well asking that if he is reading the appeal, to get in touch to let them know he is safe and well.

Sergeant Andrew Johnson from the Penzance sector said: "Richard hasn’t been seen since Friday 10th June and we are concerned for this welfare.

"He is a 60-year-old white male with short blonde hair, clean shaven and of slim build.

"Our searches now encompass the wider area of West Cornwall including beaches, carparks and campsites.

"We are issuing further images in the hope that this may lead to new information from the public, including a recent CCTV still of the car Richard would be driving, which is a silver Ford Mondeo Zetec TDCI with the number plate WK53 ZZP with a roof rack.

"We are also asking business owners in West Cornwall to check carparks and campsites in case Richard or his car is there.

"Finally, if Richard is reading this appeal, please get in touch with us to let us know that you are safe and well".
