Two seal pups rescued from Cornish Coastline
Meet 10-week old 'Stuffing' and 'Pigs in Blankets' who is eight weeks old...
Rescue personnel had a busy Christmas after they rescued two seal pups along the Cornish coastline.
A 10-week old male grey seal pup, who has been named 'Stuffing' was rescued from Mevagissey by medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) following reports of a pup on the slipway.
He was found to have wounds on his belly and eye that were healing, and was found to be underweight.
Meanwhile, the BMLR found a female grey seal pup which they rescued from Portreath. 'Pigs in Blankets''Pigs in Blankets' is around eight weeks old. She was hypothermic and had an open wound by her rear right flipper.
Both pups have been placed in hospital pens at the Cornish Sanctuary's Seal Hospital, where they received antibiotics, their wounds were treated and were put on a feeding schedule to help them gain weight.
Once they are feeling better, the sanctuary will look to move them to nursery pools to continue their rehabilitation and socialise with some of the other pups.
