A cafe in Bude is hoping to reopen next month after a fire earlier this year forced them to shut.

The January fire which caused Rosie's Kitchen to close last month, caused "catastrophic" and "extensive" damage according to the owners of the cafe.

Josh Walton, operations manager, said: "We want to put it back to exactly what it was before. The out building that actually burnt down, it had all our walk in fridges, freezers, all that in. All of that was gone, burnt to a crisp.

"Damage was limited but it was still pretty catastrophic. The smoke damage all through the cafe was really bad".

Images show the extent of the damage after the fire first broke out in January.

After a month of work they are hoping to "come back with a bang" when they reopen in March.

Josh added: "We're one of the largest employers in Bude and our initial worry straight away was all our staff. All the staff are getting paid, now it's just getting back.

"It's going to be almost three months we've been closed and it's been very slow for the first month. Lots of visits from insurers and we're getting on with it now, so we can get open".
