Rock legends The Who to play Eden Sessions

They'll be appearing with a full orchestra on July 25th

Rock legends The Who are the latest act to be announced for the Eden Sessions this summer.

Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and band will take to the stage with a full orchestra on July 25.

Over more than 2,000 gigs since 1964, they've also played Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Glastonbury (twice), Hyde Park (four times), The Isle of Wight (three times), the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics, Desert Trip, Shea Stadium, The Superbowl half-time show and Live Aid.

Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: “We’re so thrilled to welcome legends The Who to Eden, in what will be a momentous moment in the Sessions history – and a great occasion for Cornwall.

The Session will feature The Who’s full live band comprising guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls, along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.

Already due to play this year’s Eden Sessions are Lionel Richie (June 7), viral rock sensation Yungblud (June 10), The War on Drugs (June 18), Jack Johnson (June 23), Incubus (June 24), the Pet Shop Boys (June 28), Kasabian (July 1), and Anne-Marie (July 7).
