Another primary school in Cornwall has confirmed that it's had a positive case of coronavirus.

Treverbyn Academy, based in Stenalees near St Austell, says a letter is going out to all parents.

Children in the affected year group have to stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days.

Bosses are monitoring the situation and say the school will be 'fogged' this evening.

In a Facebook post, the school said:__

"URGENT NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS: We have been made aware of a pupil testing positive for COVID 19. A letter to all parents is being emailed shortly to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child, should they develop symptoms. We know that you may find this concerning, but please be assured we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England and the Aspire Health & Safety team. Your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.

"Parents of the year group affected have already received notification informing them that their child must stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days.

"The school will be fogged this evening. 'Fogging' involves spraying all surfaces with a fine mist that quickly dries and provides a protective barrier for up to 30 days - it's known to be 99.99% effective against all known pathogens.

"We hope that this added measure (in addition to the usual strict health & safety hygiene procedures in place) will help alleviate any concerns you may have. See you tomorrow."
