Police incident sparks multiple road closures in Camborne

Officers were called with concern for the welfare of a man

Multiple roads in Camborne are shut this morning (Wednesday 12 April) due to a police incident.

South Terrace is closed in both directions as investigations are carried out, as are all roads leading to the double roundabout - including Basset Street, Cross Street and Trevu Road.

Cornwall by Kernow and GoCornwall bus services are affected as a result and are being diverted.

Traffic monitoring website Inrix says: "South Terrace in both directions closed due to police incident from The Train Station turn off to The Police Station.

"All roads leading to the double roundabout are closed for the police to carry out their investigation at the scene, including Basset Street, Cross Street and Trevu Road."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called around 4.50am today, 12 April, following concern for the welfare of a man in Basset Street, Camborne.

"The ambulance and fire services are also in attendance.

"A number of road closures and a police cordon remains in place at this time."

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called around 4.50am today, 12 April, following concern for the welfare of a man in Basset Street, Camborne.

"The man in his 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Ambulance and fire services are also in attendance.

"A number of road closures and a scene guard remain in place at this time."
