Police confirm girl who died after collision at campsite in Cornwall was 20-months-old

Police have confirmed that a girl, who died after a collision at a campsite in west Cornwall, was just 20-months-old.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the Helston area at around 12.50pm on Wednesday 12th May after an incident involving a car towing a caravan.

Tragically the little girl, from the Nottingham area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police says her family are being supported by specially-trained officer.

Officers from the specialist Roads Policing Team are carrying out an investigation and say the coroner has been informed.

"Police and paramedics were called to a campsite in the Helston area following a report of a collision between a vehicle and a child at around 12.50pm on Wednesday 12 May.

"Tragically, the child, a 20-month-old girl from the Nottingham area, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Her family is being supported by specially-trained officers.

"The collision involved a car towing a caravan and happened on private land.

"The air ambulance also attended the incident.

"The coroner has been informed and an investigation by officers from the specialist Roads Policing Team continues."
