Three vehicles deliberately set on fire in Bodmin during 'arson attack'

Police have issued an appeal and are reassuring the pubic

Police have issued an appeal following an arson attack in Bodmin which saw three vehicles set on fire.

It happened on Robartes Road at around 3am in the early hours of Tuesday morning (7th September).

Officers say they will be carrying out extra patrols in the town to reassure the local community.

They added that these types of events are rare but understand that locals may be concerned.

Anyone who has any information about what happened or any CCTV footage is being asked to get in touch.

Sgt Sue Honeywill said: “We would like to reassure the public that these types of incidents remain rare in Bodmin but recognise that people are and remain concerned.

"We are investigating varies leads and lines of enquiries to bring the offender/offenders to justice and have stepped up our patrols to offer support and reassurance to the community.

"We reiterate our appeal for witnesses to come forward, if you saw anything suspicious on the night or if you know of anything that may assist, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

"Likewise, if you have your own CCTV we would encourage you to review, as it may contain vital evidence.

"As previous highlighted, these events remain unusual for Bodmin but we have seen a slight increase and therefore, we would encourage our community to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious."
