A local family-run pizza company from Cornwall is featuring in the TV show 'Britain's Top Takeaways'.

The show sees takeaways from across the country compete to win the approval of five hungry families, judging from the comfort of their own sofas.

Pizza Cabina is based on the Threemilestone industrial estate in Truro. It has made it through to the final five pizza restaurants in the BBC Two programme.

Father-and-daughter duo Jono and Anya will represent the Cornish wood-fired pizza specialists as they compete to be crowned the nation's favourite.

What can we expect from tonight's episode?

The BBC website reads: "Sara Cox is joined by comedian Darren Harriott to host pizza night. Five of the nation’s top pizza takeaways roll into Manchester to stoke up the wood-fired ovens for an epic battle of the very best dough and toppings to be named the nation’s favourite.

"Competing tonight are former cruise ship workers Victoria and Alex, who own Scream for Pizza in Newcastle. Father-and-daughter duo Jono and Anya represent Pizza Cabina in Cornwall. Devinder and George serve Italian-Indian fusion pizzas at their East West takeaway in London. Married couple Mamadou and Gaby from Lucky Mama’s in Manchester specialise in square pizzas, and finally, from Stefani’s Pizzeria, it’s Nico and Martin who serve authentic Italian pizzas all the way from Blackpool.

"Judging the pizzas and deciding who wins will be a host of Great British takeaway-loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their dining table or sofa alongside guest judges Heaton Moor Veteran’s Bowling Club.

"But who will the families decide is their top pizza takeaway?"

Britain's Top Takeaways episode 5 (pizza) is on at 8pm on BBC2 on Monday 16th May.
