81-year-old pedestrian has been left with life-changing injuries after collision in Looe

Police say the driver failed to stop, but has since been found and is helping with their enquiries

An elderly pedestrian has suffered life changing injuries after a collision with a car in Looe.

The 81-year-old woman was rushed to Derriford after the incident on Fore Street.

Police say the driver did not stop, but has since been found and is helping with their enquiries.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw something on Monday lunchtime (14th June).

Devon & Cornwall Police are also appealing for dashcam footage.

Police said: "At approximately 1254hrs on Monday 14th June 2021, a car collided with a pedestrian on Fore Street in the centre of Looe in Cornwall.

"The collision involved a black BMW Z4 convertible and an 81-year-old female pedestrian.

"As a result of the collision, the pedestrian has sustained life-changing injuries. The occupants of the BMW were not injured.

"The pedestrian was taken to Derriford Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

"The driver of the BMW failed to stop after the collision, but has since been located and is helping police with enquiries.

"Any persons who witnessed the collision or has information regarding it - in particular any Dashcam footage/CCTV - are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101, quoting log number 431 of the 14th June 2021.

"Local officers as well as Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience whilst we dealt with the collision".
