An Olympic gold medalist from Cornwall has recorded a special message of support for students from her old school.
Rower Helen Glover used to go to Humphry Davy in Penzance and has wished pupils well during lockdown.
The school shared her video on its social media pages on International Women's Day.
They said: "We're celebrating all the brilliant women in our school community and around the world! We would also like to share this message from a truly inspirational woman, HDS Alumni @Helenglovergb who recorded some words of encouragement for our students".
"A big hello to all the Humphry Davy school students. I'm Helen Glover and I used to go to your school and I'm now an Olympic rower.
"I've been chatting to some of your teachers, some of your parents and your headmaster got in touch and wanted me to send you a message because I've been hearing about how amazingly you're coping with lockdown.
"It's a really, really tough situation for so many of you. Whether you've been managing to go into school a little bit, whether you're home-schooling - however you're managing over this last year, you guys are doing great!
"I just wanted to get in touch and just wish you all the best. Keep going, try and keep your heads up in this really, really tough time.
"And just know that everyone at Humphry Davy School - I'm really really proud of you".
