Mobile home in south-east Cornwall almost destroyed by fire

Firefighters rapid response prevented the blaze at Par from spreading further.

Fire crews from Fowey and St Austell stopped a blaze escalating at a mobile home park at Par on Friday November 6.

On arrival, just after 10 pm, firefighters were confronted by one mobile home was well alight.

They managed to remove two propane gas cylinders early on during the incident and cooled them with water.

Fortunately no-one was staying at the site at the time.

Crews worked for two hours to ensure the fire was out. The cause isn't yet known.

"On receipt of this call appliances from Fowey and St. Austell were mobilised along with an Officer, on arrival a mobile home was found to be well alight, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high pressure hosereels to extinguish the fire, two propane cylinders were removed from the immediate vicinity and water cooled.

"Crews were delayed for some time turning over and damping down. The cause is unknown at this time. Further investigations will be undertaken."
