A man has been charged following reports of a serious sexual assault in Falmouth.
Police were called to an address in the town in the early hours of Sunday 5th December.
They have now confirmed that a 23-year-old from the Hayle area has been charged with rape.
Davlatsho Davlatshoev, of Gwinear Road, Connor Downs, has appeared before Bodmin Magistrates.
He has been remanded in custody and is due before Truro Crown Court on the 14th January.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police have charged a 23-year-old man from Hayle with rape.
"Officers were called to a report of a serious sexual assault at an address in Falmouth in the early hours of Sunday 5 December.
"Davlatsho Davlatshoev, aged 23, of Gwinear Road, Connor Downs, Hayle, has been charged with rape.
"He is due to appear before Bodmin Magistrates’ Court today 17 December."
