The Eden Project announced that Lionel Richie is confirmed for next year's Eden Sessions.
The global superstar is set to play in front of the world-famous Biomes on June 14, 2022.
Earlier this month (March 2021), Eden announced that the Sessions series of concerts planned for June and July of this year would not take place due to the impacts of the pandemic and restrictions on outdoor audiences.
The ambition is that all of the acts set for this year will be rescheduled to play, and Eden is delighted to announce that Lionel Richie is the first to be confirmed.
Eden is contacting all existing ticket purchasers with details. Original tickets remain valid for Lionel Richie and any other show that is rescheduled.
Lionel Richie, whose classic tracks include All Night Long, Dancing on the Ceiling and Hello, played two blockbuster sell-out shows at Eden in July 2016.
The concerts were hailed as among the greatest in the history of the Sessions and his return will be eagerly anticipated by his legions of fans.
Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: "It's great to be able to confirm that Lionel is coming back to Eden in the summer of 2022. His previous shows were fabulous and we can't wait to welcome him back".
Lionel Richie has six Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar to his name and has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide.
The singer-songwriter from Tuskegee, Alabama, first found fame singing and writing songs with The Commodores including the all-time classics Three Times A Lady, Stuck On You, Still, and Easy.
After turning solo, he became one of the most successful artists in the world, earning a string of 13 top ten hits between 1981 and 1987, including 11 number one singles including Endless Love, Truly, and Say You (Say Me).
A limited number of tickets and packages for the rescheduled Lionel Richie Eden Session are now available on the Sessions' website.
