Part of beach taped off after landslide in south east Cornwall
A warning has gone out to walkers to take care on the coast
A warning has gone out after a landslide at a beach in south east Cornwall.
Coastguard rescue crews were called to the scene at Finnygook, Portwrinkle, on Thursday afternoon.
Teams made sure that no members of the public were at risk from falling debris.
Notices have been put up at the beach entrances and the area has been taped off.
Walkers are being urged to take care when on the coastline as the recent wet weather could cause more landslides to occur.
"Team called to a landslide at Finnygook beach at Portwrinkle. Upon arrival 2 team members proceeded down to the beach to make sure no members of public where in danger from the falling debris, 2 more officers walked the coast path above the cliff to make sure the landslide had not affected the path or any access from above. We have put notices up on the beach entrances and put coastguard tape around the area.
"Please be aware while walking at the Eastern end of Portwrinke (Finnygook) beach.
"With all this rain and rough weather landslides are going to be more frequent so keep this in mind when walking on our coastline."
