A Japanese jumbo jet has been spotted flying low over Cornwall ahead of the G7 summit.

It is believed to be the Japanese Air Force One, a Boeing 777-300ER, which is used by the country's Prime Minister.

The aircraft was caught on camera by Andrew Trenoweth over St Agnes at about 9.20am on Tuesday morning.

He says it went down towards St. Ives then banked behind St. Agnes Beacon and headed back up to Newquay.

It comes ahead of the world leaders' event which is taking place in Carbis Bay next week

"Just had a very low pass from a Japanese jumbo jet. A quick google of ‘Japanese presidential plane’ and up pops the same plane.

"With G7 around the corner it could be a good few weeks for plane spotters!

World leaders from the seven members (UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, France and Italy) will be attending the event in Carbis Bay along with guests Australia, India, South Korea and South Africa.

Over 5,000 extra police officers are being drafted in to help police the summit.
