Scary amounts of Halloween waste produced in Cornwall
It includes 180 tonnes of pumpkin flesh alone!
It's claimed 180 tonnes of pumpkin flesh - and 125 tonnes of fancy dress costumes - are thrown away in Cornwall once Halloween is over.
The council's raised concerns over the amount of waste the day produces, and is offering advice on how to reduce what ends up in landfill.
It says there are thousands of tasty recipes online that can mean all that pumpkin doesn't go to waste.
With costumes, many of them need batteries which often end up in the bin after the celebrations are over.
The council's advising putting 'zombie batteries' in a box so they can be taken to a recycling centre - as batteries can cause fires.
As for what the trick-or-treaters leave behind, plastic sweet tubs, and cardboard and paper decorations can be recycled using the Council’s fortnightly recycling collection service.
Plastic tubs, metal cans and tins go in the red bag and cardboard goes in the orange bag.
